Lead - K

Deaf Intervention Services, LLC (DeafIS) was established in 2018 and is a for profit organization. They support, promote, and advocate full
language access for the Deaf Community by providing access through sign language
interpreters, captioning, auxiliary aids, and more throughout the state of Wyoming. DeafIS also strives to advocate for access services at Wyoming's
hospitals, non-profits, schools, small businesses, local government, and other agencies as
needed.
DeafIS supports the tenets of Lead K because we recognize how vital the learning period between birth to age 5 can be for
all Deaf children. When a newborn fails a hearing screening, DeafIS is ready to assist in any way requested, whether it is to visit a deaf newborns’ home to present the variety of language and education options, to introduce deaf community members and mentors, to listen and advise regarding all areas of access, or more.
DeafIS has many resources available and wishes to encourage parents to seek available information when choosing which communication option(s) would work best for their family and deaf child(ren). It takes a village to raise a
deaf child.
